THE SUPREME COURT

Image
The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) Hey yall,   What with all the news about the Supreme Court of the United States  (SCOTUS) overseeing the Judicial branch of our democratic republic as a co-equal branch with the Executive branch, that the president oversees,  I thought that some research into the court and its current panel of justices led by Chief Justice Roberts, might be helpful.    I hope this helps clarify the court and its relationship to the other branches as current events center around the subject. I wanted to learn more about it and share with my peeps. :)    The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) is the  top court of the land and the  highest judicial authority in the country ...    as is said, " The buck stops here."   The Constitution gives SCOTUS  the power to interpret the Constitution, settle legal disputes, and shape the nation’s laws through its  deliberations an...

Follow up with cardio doc

Image
Good Tuesday morning 03.18.25 yall! :) So...I hope you're not feeling too rough from your St. Patrick's Day festivities!   March 17 comes with mixed signals emotions around here as it's my mother's birthday. She's moved on some time ago now but every St. Patrick's day I feel a little closer to her and miss her more at the same time.  So...my 1st appointment with my new cardio doc since the heart attacks 2 weeks ago today, is at 9 this morning. I've got my list of questions and am looking forward to him laying out how much I'm allowed to do as far as exercise, walking  (maybe even light jogging for the first time in so many years), deep breathing etc is concerned.  I gotta tell yall....I feel like a different person.  Apparently some of the awful, consistent and ever present pain and spikes and visits from the "screwdriver man" were because of the condition of my arteries.  2 of them were 95-99% blocked. You gotta know that these last couple ye...

Thoughts about recent moves by Trump administration with regards to tariffs

In my humble yet studied opinion, the Trump administration's recent increase of tariffs, a 25% duty on imports from Mexico and Canada and 10% duty on Chinese products, is a misstep that undermines domestic and international economic stability. cnn.com Misaligned Objectives: The tariffs are defended by the administration as a means of combatting illegal immigration and fentanyl drug running. Applying the tools of trade policy to complex issues like immigration and drug enforcement is not merely novel but also suboptimal. Trade tariffs are blunt weapons poorly suited to such delicate problems, and the strategy risks muddling distinct fields of policy and having perverse outcomes. Economic Self-Harm: Imposing tariffs on close friends disrupts existing supply chains and imposes costs on American consumers and businesses. For instance, the 25% tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum not only strains diplomatic relations but also increases the cost of production in U.S. industri...

Hey yall, It's 2/17/2025. I had forgotten about this blog that I apparently started back in 2008. SO I am just now looking through all the posts to see what was up. Turns out, quite a lot! 2008 was when we were recording my Independent Music Award winning album that Will Ackerman produced titled, "The Path Ahead". So, that was awesome! Anyway, although it's difficult to believe, thids post happens some 17 years since I began this blog. Unreal!!! Well, now that I know it's here I think I'll start using it. I don't hang out on FaceBook much anymore because my account got hacked and they suspended me instead of the hacker! So I'll start posting here and sharing the links there! Stay tuned. I have a lot to say about music, crypto, AI, AI, AI, chronic pain, and AI automation. :) Yes, I'm hooked. I have been studying AI since ChatGPT came out most every day forom 2 to 10 hours a day and have taken several courses and participated in scores of...

A Poem shared with me receently

CRABBY OLD MAN When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in North Platte, Nebraska , it was believed that he had nothing left of any value Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem . Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital . One nurse took her copy to Missouri . The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News Magazine of the St. Louis Association for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem. And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet ... Crabby Old Man What do you see nurses? . . What do you see? What are you thinking . . . ... When you...

Priscilla

I am so very sad. Our dog Priscilla died today. She was a handful to be sure. Those of you who know us know she was much like me. Inclined to massive mood swings in terribly short periods of time. She was staying with Robin while we are out of the country. Robin is one of a small group of people Priscilla trusted enough and loved enough to let close enough to bite. She died peacefully in her sleep beside Robin's bed. I'm glad that she and Robin became friends. Priscilla bit all her friends at least once. I wish she could bite me now. Au revoir lil' bit. I'll miss you lots . r

Brother Dan goes hme.

Brother Dan Cathey has left this earth. He will be sorely missed. The effect of his works is incalculable and will be evident in many lives for many years. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Dan payable only by our continued effort to do like he did while we were blessed with his physical presence….Love. Dan knew how to love. No qualifying required. He loved like Jesus loves. He saw only God in everyone he met and the Christ in him connected with those he touched. I want to be more like brother Dan. I will miss him and am thankful to the God that embraces him now for knowing him. R
